Week 8 Growth Midset
Over the past half of the semester I have seen areas in my work ethic that have been driven and have grown to become better based off the my original growth mindset post back in January. I have grown a lot just from going through this class. But there are some areas that I feel my work ethic for school could grow even more. Often times over the course of this class I have found myself only reaching to get my work done at the minimal standard. Whether that be from running out of time, procrastinating or just no desire to get my work done, I have found myself only trying to get the minimum accomplished. I feel that this is a major area where I could grow. I know that there are many areas in my life that can improve if I just take growth mindset of working to get as much as possible done and overachieving in my book. I think that I could grow a lot from school to work. I think another area that I find myself struggling in is doing things at the last minute. Granted that some of the things that I do at last minute are based off the fact that I work every day so I am playing with a kinda crazy schedule, I could prioritize my day better so that I can make sure that I am getting things done with plenty of time, and this would probably motivate me to getting my work done at a higher standard of doing more than just the minimum. This semester has been great in helping me figure out where I have grown but also where I have room to grow. I am looking forward to the end of the semester to see exactly where I will grow and how I will make it happen.

Hi, Tyler! You are not alone in this! At the beginning of the semester, I told myself that I was going to work ahead and try to be so far ahead that I wouldn't get caught up in the due-dates, but here I am on Sunday trying to get everything done. I really liked your comment about prioritizing better. I completely agree and need to make sure school is remaining at the top of my list of things to get done each day. Awesome post!
ReplyDeleteHi Tyler,
ReplyDeleteI can completely relate to this! It is amazing how our schedules (in general) are packed with so much to do that it is hard to get everything we desire to get done in a day. It is so true that time management is the key to success in college. Procrastination has been (and still is) a big problem of mine, but this semester it's actually been a lot better than semester's past. I hope since Week 8 you've made some changes, and are seeing the results. Good luck with the rest of your semester!
